Help our Church to recover from the recent devastating flooding

Hello,

My name is Cristian and I’m a member of the Parish council of The Saint Ignatius Romanian Christian Orthodox Parish Of Auckland.

For the second time in 2 years, the Romanian Orthodox Christian Parish is facing another devastating flooding event which has caused significant damage to the wider church property.

On Saturday morning when the waters had somewhat receded Father Michael along with some of us, parishioners had attempted to commence the clean-up efforts. By 3pm the river which goes through the church property had started overflowing and we all narrowly managed to drive out before the road became unpassable.

As the rainfall is announced to continue in the days to come it is too dangerous for us to continue the clean-up efforts with the unpredictable rising water levels.

However, we would still like to offer some support to the parish even if we cannot physically be there during these difficult moments so any prayers and/or donations that anyone would like to make to the recovery efforts would be greatly appreciated.

All proceedings will go directly to help the church become operational and provide a comforting place of worship for the orthodox Christian community.

You can also donate directly in the Church’s bank account.

We are thanking you for your efforts.

God bless all of you!

Cristian Butcovan
